Marlene Norton-Baker is a young woman in a hurry. She can already skip across 100m in a respectable 17 seconds but is looking to reduce it to 15 sec so she can waltz away with the gold medal in her age category at the upcoming World Masters Games. It will be a natural extension to her stint as a torch bearer during the 2000 Olympic Games when, caught up in the euphoria of the event, she sprinted past the next runner in line at the end of her 400m. While running fast is no guarantee of business success, it does point to a woman with a sense of balance, mixing the childhood pleasure of competing with a history of successful business development.
