Not every young woman who goes to work for her father covers themselves in as much glory as Taren Hocking. She recognises very well the double edged sword that goes with the territory of working in a family company, but has used the Dameclian threat as a tool to cut a swathe for herself through corporate Australia. Admittedly the Champion Group might well have given her a start and the initial introduction, but the pace at which she has played the game indicates she was a natural. She started slowly and lowly as a junior washing dishes and stacking brochures but soon proved her worth before leaving the family company to prove herself away from parental influence before returning to the fold where she blossomed.
